Overview
Hillside, also known as Fifteen in the U.S., captivated audiences as a Canadian-American teen drama airing on YTV from 1991 to 1993. Created by John T. Binkley, it marked Nickelodeon's sole foray into teenage soap operas, filmed on videotape like traditional daytime dramas. Originally conceived as an improvised pilot for The Disney Channel, the project pivoted to Nickelodeon after Disney’s withdrawal. Throughout its 65-episode span, Hillside/Fifteen showcased a diverse ensemble cast, including notable talents like Laura Harris, Enuka Okuma, and Ryan Reynolds, and gained international syndication in countries such as Germany and Israel.
