Episode Overview
In a small Missouri town, Kimble works as a handyman and encounters Jenny Ammory, a young girl known for her compulsive lying. Jenny frequently converses with her rag doll, 'Nyet,' near a local pond. When she claims that a man attacked her, she uses Kimble as a scapegoat for her tardiness to school. During a supply delivery, Jenny identifies him as her assailant. As teacher Emily Norton discusses Jenny's lies with Kimble, Jenny falsely accuses them of an affair. This leads to violent repercussions for Kimble and Emily, who is dismissed. In an effort to defend her at a school hearing, Kimble attempts to expose Jenny’s deceit, but the townspeople believe her and form a lynch mob to find him.
