In a coal mining town in West Virginia, Kimble faces hostility from the locals and soon finds himself pursued by the sheriff's posse. Seeking refuge in the mountains, he encounters Cassie, a young woman living in a secluded cabin with her grandmother. Although she offers to help Kimble escape, her true motivation is to keep him close for her own desires. Meanwhile, Gerard travels to West Virginia after the sheriff informs him of Kimble's sighting, joining forces with the posse in a relentless search for the fugitive.
