Episode Overview
Eddie is starstruck when one of his idols, Webby (guest star Ted McGinley), pays a visit, but Joy isn’t impressed by Webby’s carefree lifestyle filled with thrilling escapades. She believes he’s avoiding what could truly bring him happiness: a serious relationship. Disregarding Eddie’s advice, Joy tries to pair Webby with Denise (guest star Tricia Fisher), who manages to reign in his wild ways. However, when Webby decides he wants to settle down, Denise informs Joy that she’s not interested. Meanwhile, Jeff feels miserable seeing his wife cry while wearing a dreadful shirt. As summer vacation kicks off, Allison (guest star Krysten Ritter) surprises her parents by bringing Doug (guest star Tim Sharp) home. While they enjoy their summer days, Steph persuades Eddie to join, leaving Jeff and Joy feeling left out and irritated by their partners' joy, but they eventually give in and join the fun.
