Jake grows increasingly suspicious that Jess had a hand in his shooting, remaining indifferent as Jess continues running Shooters in his absence. Meanwhile, Brooke swaps out Alison's love letter with her own, claiming that long-distance relationships are doomed to fail, which complicates Alison's attempts to reach Billy. On the boardwalk, Billy surprises Brooke with a marriage proposal. Paul informs Matt that he’s going through a divorce and needs help moving out, but instead, he stays home and accuses Matt of stalking him. Kimberly tries to persuade everyone that Michael is after her, even leading Amanda to think he vandalized her car. In a fit of rage, she damages the beach house and scratches her own face before calling the police and staging a confrontation with Michael to get him arrested. After a court hearing, she sees a strange man’s reflection in her motel room mirror, and he speaks to her.
