Richard plays mind games with Jane, leaving unsettling clues about the murder at her home and workplace. Detective Wylie reveals to Amanda that Peter is actually Dr. Peter Howell, wanted in Kansas City for the murder of his wife. Amanda travels to Kansas City to speak with the mother of Peter's deceased wife, Beth, who had terminal cancer. She learns that Peter claimed he had granted Beth's wish to end her suffering, leading to charges from her father. A diary later disclosed that Beth took her own life, but Peter admits to Amanda that he did kill her. Meanwhile, Kimberly wakes up but vanishes before she can testify for Peter. Alison turns down Billy’s marriage proposal, and she and Jake opt to keep their romance under wraps. In Boston, Taylor McBride is captivated by a newspaper article about Peter's legal troubles and informs her husband, Kyle, that she’s headed to Los Angeles.
