Michael attempts to bring Peter and Amanda back together, hoping it will inspire Peter to contribute more at work. At Kyle's birthday celebration, he tries to play matchmaker, but Amanda isn't ready to face Peter yet. Peter finds his confidence after he performs an emergency tracheotomy to save a driver in a car accident. Meanwhile, Carter gifts Sydney a stunning sports car but struggles to find time for her. Samantha ends up sleeping with Billy after he buys a collection of her paintings to support her family reunion plans. Michael hesitates to sign the divorce papers, while Kimberly persuades Megan to take him to Las Vegas with the hope of marriage. Sydney confronts Jane for prioritizing her friendship with Sherry over their family. Sherry's boyfriend, Ed, reveals to Jane that their mother has started drinking again, burdened by guilt over giving Jane up. Dan becomes abusive towards Matt.
