After suffering broken ribs and a separated shoulder from her fall, Sydney finds solace in the possibility of a five million dollar settlement. Meanwhile, Craig tells Amanda that he plans to win the lawsuit by charming Sydney. Kyle takes Amanda to a company event and shares his aspiration of opening a jazz club; she offers to invest, hoping this will keep her finances away from Sydney. Sam secretly borrows money from Billy to assist her father in crossing the border. Michael's sister Jennifer arrives and stays at the beach house, where Michael helps her secure a job interview at D&D, but she ends up insulting Amanda. Megan strikes up a friendship with Jennifer. Matt resolves to fight for custody of Chelsea. Colleen confides in Jake about her troubled marriage, while Alison worries she can't make Jake happy due to her inability to have children. Peter is enraged when Taylor studies her role as Beth through old home videos.
