During lunch with Megan, Jennifer suddenly hears Kyle's voice and instinctively slaps him. Later, Kyle shows up at her beach house to apologize for how he ended their affair in Boston. After discovering Jennifer's infidelity and her decision to drop out of school, Michael throws her out. Meanwhile, Amanda and Kyle find a potential location for their jazz club, but Amanda hesitates to get involved with him after learning about his past relationships with Syd and Jennifer. Sam's father continues to extort money from her, refusing to leave town. Denise encourages Chelsea to keep a diary for evidence against Matt, and she takes notes when a male friend, grieving the loss of his partner to AIDS, spends the night at Matt's place.
