In the aftermath of the tragic accident, Sydney and Reilly lose their lives, while Samantha escapes without any criminal repercussions. Fueled by anger, Craig seeks revenge, with Jennifer stepping in to offer him emotional support. Meanwhile, Amanda heads to New York and decides to reject the job that she had passionately convinced her former boss, Eric Baines, to create for her. Peter and Taylor make wedding plans, but during the ceremony, Peter publically shames her by revealing her non-pregnancy. He subsequently threatens Michael, who is incapacitated from an earlier attack. Thanks to Michael's recommendation, Matt secures a position at an AIDS clinic, prompting him and Chelsea to relocate to San Francisco. Dr. Brett Cooper, visiting Kimberly's grave, vows to take revenge on Michael, and soon takes a position at Wilshire Memorial while moving into Matt's former apartment.
