Overview
Set against the backdrop of Thatcher-era Britain, Bread follows the struggles of the Boswell family, a devoutly Catholic clan residing in Liverpool's Dingle district. Matriarch Nellie navigates the challenges of life with her estranged husband, Freddie, who left her for the flamboyant 'Lilo Lill.' Their children—Joey, Jack, Adrian, Aveline, and Billy—remain in the family home, pooling their resources through dubious means like benefit fraud and petty theft.
