Episode Overview
In a strange turn of events, a judges' convention coincides with a significant mob gathering at the same hotel. While unable to take action against the mobsters due to their legal standing, Hardcastle focuses on his nomination for a prestigious lifetime achievement award. To ensure some luck, he arranges to stay in what he believes is a favorable room, but it turns out to be the one designated for a hitman. That night, a suitcase filled with a rifle and a photo of mobsters Don Ferris and Sid Storm is mistakenly left in Hardcastle's room. Before he can alert the authorities, he is ambushed, and the suitcase vanishes. Lacking evidence, Hardcastle decides to confront Ferris. Initially skeptical, the mobsters come around after Sid is killed. Forming a tense partnership, Hardcastle and Ferris piece together clues leading them to the hitman, Lee Orlando.
