Episode Overview

After years of raising their children separately, Mike and Catherine are embarking on a remarkable journey to construct a straw bale home atop a rocky outcrop in central Otego. Together, they have seven kids from their previous marriages, and with the last child finally out of the house, they are ready to create their dream space—one where they can finally live together alone. Using Catherine's expertise as one of the few female joiners in the country and Mike's inventive skills, they plan to build a distinctive straw bale and hemp house overlooking Wanaka's stunning landscape.
