Yvonne's attempt to break free was thwarted by Jim, Karen, and PO Blakeson, resulting in her spending the following week in isolation. Meanwhile, G-Wing welcomed new PO Barry Pearce and Governor Neil Grayling, who appeared to have ambitious plans for Larkhall—none of which included Karen. Barry caught Di’s attention and made such an impression that she invited him to move in with her. Karen destroyed Helen Stewart's harassment complaint against Jim. Sylvia took charge of the newly privatized canteen but started poorly by selling expired goods. In a surprising turn, Neil demoted Karen to a uniformed role while promoting Jim to Wing Governor. Barry's violent outburst towards Shaz and PO Blakeson hinted at a darker side to his character.
