Tenko (1981)
S02E03 Suicide
Episode Overview
On January 2, 1943, the women at the camp grow increasingly agitated by the absurd new rules, like the ban on swearing, particularly Dorothy and Joss. Dorothy decides to help Shinya learn English. Tensions rise when Marion confronts Verna about her role in leading "her women," but Miss Hasan firmly states that Verna is in charge and must be followed. Meanwhile, Kate and Rose are desperate for news about their men in the male camp, while Dr. Trier seeks to nurse Bea back to health in the infirmary. The women, dressed in elegant outfits for a propaganda photo shoot, are thrown into despair when Sally, overwhelmed by depression, tragically takes her own life with a broken mirror. The camp is plunged into sorrow as the guards crack down on the already shaken women.
