Episode Overview
In the early hours of Sunday, August 19, 1934, at 2:30 a.m., the Big Train rolls into the yard of the State Pen in Atlanta. Fifty-four notorious inmates, among them Al Capone and Tony Diaz, are handcuffed and ushered aboard. Armed prison guards with machine guns oversee the scene. After being seated, the prisoners are instructed to fasten leg shackles. By 5:00 a.m., the Big Train departs, sticking to its timetable.
