The Untouchables (1959)
S02E14 The Masterpiece
Episode Overview
In December 1931, Chicago finds itself in a power struggle following Al Capone's imprisonment, which has fractured his bootlegging empire. Mayer Wartel, one of Capone's trusted lieutenants, takes control of the speakeasies, while another, Karl Positan, secures the breweries and distilleries. To assert his dominance, Positan decides to withhold his whiskey and beer, leading to a significant decline in the number of thriving speakeasies, reaching a record low during Prohibition. Meanwhile, Eliot Ness and his team remain vigilant, monitoring the escalating conflict. Nitti is feeling quite frustrated about the situation.
