By the summer of 1933, Eliot Ness and his team of Untouchables had made significant strides in curbing the production and distribution of whiskey in Chicago. However, the most prominent player in the game, Giuseppe Marconi, known as Gus Marco, remained active. By day, he appeared to be a reputable taxi garage owner, but by night, he was deeply involved in the bootlegging business, operating a massive underground distillery where he transformed stolen industrial alcohol into illicit liquor.
