On June 25, 1933, Ness and Lee Hobson arrive at the Castle, a grand estate near Chicago that serves as both the residence and base of operations for the infamous crime lord, "King" Frank Argos, a familiar adversary of Ness. Argos' lawyer, Eli Halstead, reveals that the ailing Argos wishes to bequeath his $5 million in bonds to his estranged son, whom he has not seen in years.
