The Untouchables (1959)
S04E03 The Chess Game
Episode Overview
By mid-June 1932, Eliot Ness and his Untouchables had successfully dismantled every champagne-making venture in the city. Yet, just four months later, champagne reemerges in the trendy Westside nightclubs. Ness prepares to raid the posh Silver Canary, the most upscale speak in town. Inside the club, Marty Baltin is seen handing Charley Mailer an enormous sum of $86,000 for the latest shipment of champagne: 350 cases, which breaks down to roughly $245 per case of twelve, or about $20 for each bottle.
