As Keeran Raiders launch a surprise attack, Malone is struck by a lethal poison dart that triggers vivid memories of his harrowing experiences as a war correspondent during World War I. Trapped in a terrifying hallucination, Malone finds himself once more as an inexperienced reporter, isolated from Allied support amid an advancing enemy force encroaching into No Man's Land. When the three exhausted British soldiers assigned to protect him are taken out by enemy fire, the novice journalist, unaccustomed to combat, must fight back to survive and protect a wounded sergeant.
