Episode Overview
Nick is bewildered by a stream of inebriated hikers wandering the moors. He learns that a man named Potter has been warned for distributing his homemade wine, which is to blame for the drunkenness. Potter also faces accusations of indecent exposure, but Nick later finds out these claims are unfounded. Meanwhile, a bank employee reports her husband missing, prompting Nick to search for him, but he finds no trace. Tragically, he later discovers that the man took his own life due to his wife's affair with the bank manager. When Alan Maskell is denied a loan to launch his business, Nick leverages the tragedy to convince the bank manager to reconsider. Meanwhile, Kate faces backlash from Dr. Ferrenby after suggesting Mrs. Maskell, a mother of six, consider the contraceptive pill, which also angers Mr. Maskell, who sees it as a blow to his masculinity.
