Episode Overview
Title: Rumours Plot: Charlie Denby’s record store is a favorite hangout for the local youth, but when both Blaketon and Nick receive anonymous tips suggesting that Denby has an inappropriate fascination with young boys, unsettling rumors begin to emerge. Eager to resolve the situation, Blaketon pushes for clarity while Nick approaches Denby to inquire about his personal life. Denby maintains that he simply enjoys the company of the young men. However, as Nick observes Denby’s interactions, he learns that Denby only seems to invite boys to his home. Tensions escalate when Nick witnesses Denby in a heated exchange with local car dealer Reg Pendleton. The situation intensifies when Kate overhears Harry Cottis accusing Denby of assaulting his son. Soon after, Blaketon receives an order from the superintendent, a fellow Mason, to bring Denby in for questioning. Denby staunchly denies any wrongdoing.
