Episode Overview
A significant CND protest is set to take place outside the Fylingdales early warning defense base near Aidensfield, with aspiring MP Paul Melthorn scheduled to speak. Tensions arise when local workers take offense at the demonstrators putting up posters for the event, leading to a confrontation in the pub that Nick has to intervene in. During the scuffle, a demonstrator is injured, and Nick faces accusations of assault. Meanwhile, the Ashfordly police prepare to oversee the demonstration, and Blaketon learns that the American Ambassador will be visiting Fylingdales at the same time. The activists' campsite is then robbed, and Melthorn's wallet, which contains compromising photos of him with a young woman, goes missing. As the protest blocks the road, Melthorn delivers his speech but suddenly falls ill. Kate rushes to his side, only to find he has a weak heart. In a twist, it’s revealed that the demonstrator accusing Nick is actually a Special Branch officer
