Episode Overview

Title: The Buxton Defence Plot: Renowned Russian chess player Leonid Vorodin is making a stop at Ashfordly Hall during his tour of Britain, prompting Lord Ashfordly to request a constant police presence from Sergeant Craddock. However, this does not deter a thief from breaking in at night and stealing some of the lord's prized chess sets. Vorodin intends to defect with the help of his British press secretary, Anna Young, but their plan has caught the attention of Sychen and Zaikov from the Russian embassy. Meanwhile, Greengrass plans to sell his cottage in Aidensfield to fund a move to the Caribbean, leaving Vernon without a place to stay as David prepares to return to his mother.
