Episode Overview
Kate leaves the hospital with baby Sarah, but the mood is heavy. Nick is so distracted that he neglects his duties, which frustrates Blaketon. When reports of prowlers surface, Nick fails to act on them. The following day, Mr. Copeland expresses his dissatisfaction to Blaketon, complaining about Nick's lack of efficiency and a stolen tank of petrol. Blaketon, unaware of Kate's situation, confronts Nick harshly at the police house. Realizing she can’t keep her condition hidden any longer, Kate encourages Nick to share the news with Phil. Blaketon later regrets his words and seeks to apologize. Struggling to cope, Kate asks Nick for a picnic in the hills, but this leads to a dire turn when she develops pneumonia, worsening her state. Emotions escalate, and when Kate passes away, tensions rise. After the funeral, Nick spots David Stockwell with a petrol can, leading to a troubling realization.
