Episode Overview
The Shep is awarded Principal of the Year, but Clare becomes furious when he continues to mistreat Connor. After Clare and their friends defend him, they all end up in detention. Tensions rise when Alli, frustrated by Connor's pencil tapping, gets spit on by him. This escalates into Alli breaking Connor's pencil, leading to a push that results in Connor being expelled. Upon discovering Connor has Asperger syndrome, Clare realizes that the Shep’s attitude won’t change. She confronts him, accusing him of favoring jocks, while he derogatorily labels Connor a freak and Clare a little bitch. During the award ceremony, footage of their argument is aired, turning the school against the Shep and angering the board of education, along with Connor's parents, who threaten legal action.
