Episode Overview
The Buffalo boys convene in Red Deer for Mikey's D-Day skydiving tribute. Joe and Sam inspect the military drop zone above Abraham Lake in the Rockies, but they find the canyon too tight for the DC-3. Concerned for safety, Joe decides to cancel the jump. However, Mikey counters Joe’s reasoning by reminding him of their motto at Buffalo: there’s always a backup plan. Joe flies out to find a new drop site, but encounters inclement weather. Just as he considers canceling the mission, twenty paratroopers from Canada and the U.S. arrive, eager for the jump. Joe takes off despite the worsening conditions, but ultimately decides against the jump. With everyone still aboard, Mikey’s only chance hinges on a slim opportunity at dawn—if Joe gives the green light.
