Fueled by the tragic death of a schoolgirl from a contaminated ecstasy pill, Jack becomes increasingly obsessed with proving Brad's guilt. Tess watches in terror as Jack crosses ethical boundaries in his quest for vengeance. Eventually, he manages to pressure a student involved in drug dealing into giving a statement that directly implicates Brad. However, Jack’s reckless behavior culminates in a life-altering choice—he takes Brad's life and is subsequently arrested for murder, leaving Tess devastated by the turn of events.
