Carmen is grappling with the death of her husband, Mike, and a neck injury that cost her job as a data management specialist. The combination of isolation and unemployment has intensified her anxiety, leading to a worsening hoarding disorder and excessive online shopping. Concerned about her mother’s well-being and her growing distance from the family, Melissa fears Carmen's situation is deteriorating. Seeking help, Carmen turns to the Hoarders team in hopes of decluttering her home and regaining control over her hoarding issues.
