Nellie comes back to Walnut Grove and realizes that Nancy's behavior has deteriorated significantly. When she feels overshadowed, Nancy takes off. Nels and Nellie embark on a search for her. Just as they believe Nancy has grasped an important lesson, she shows that she hasn't changed at all.
