Episode Overview

Teen runaway William Bonney gets a fresh start when compassionate ranch owner John Tunstall offers him employment. In a short time, Tunstall becomes a close friend and a father figure to Bonney. However, everything changes when Tunstall is brutally murdered, pushing Bonney back into a life of crime as he swears revenge. Fueled by anger and isolation, he confronts Tunstall's killers, leading to a violent showdown. Years later, Bat Masterson, a former gunslinger turned journalist, visits the campaign office of congressional candidate Robert Widenmann—another former employee of Tunstall—to uncover how William Bonney became the infamous Billy the Kid.
