In Chicago, Miss Parker realizes she narrowly missed Jarod, who was disguised as a high school biology instructor, but soon finds herself battling the flu. Meanwhile, Jarod has taken on the role of a virologist at an infectious disease lab, investigating the mysterious vanishing of a fellow scientist. Along the way, he forms a friendship with Ben, a passionate musician striving to hone his skills across different instruments, much to the dismay of his uninterested neighbors.
