Episode Overview
Shinji Ikari receives an urgent call from his distant father, Gendo, the head of NERV, urging him to come to Tokyo-3. The city is under threat from a colossal Angel, and Shinji must step up to pilot the sole machine capable of confronting this formidable foe: Evangelion Unit-01. As he grapples with his complicated relationship with his father, he must find the strength to protect the city from destruction.
