Freddie develops a crush on Garth Parks, a charming and bright baseball player. When teammate Dwayne cancels their dance date, it opens the door for Freddie to go with Garth instead. However, Dwayne becomes uneasy after Garth reveals troubling details about a past encounter with a woman. He confides in Walter, who suggests the incident qualifies as date rape. When Dwayne warns Freddie about Garth, she misinterprets his concern as mere jealousy. Garth later attempts to assault Freddie at a scenic overlook, but Dwayne intervenes. Together, Freddie and the previous victim testify to the police, ensuring Garth is held accountable.
