Episode Overview
Genkai informs Yusuke that his final challenge is to kill her, which makes him hesitate. Meeting her in a cave, he admits he can't go through with it. Genkai reveals this was just the first part of the test—she won’t entrust her power to someone willing to take her life. She then shows him her Spirit Wave Orb, a glowing sphere of energy, and tells him that his task is to absorb it. Despite the risk to his life, Yusuke agrees. She transfers the energy into him, and while he initially feels nothing, he soon collapses in agony. Meanwhile, the semifinals kick off in a new arena as Team Urameshi enters, now down two members—Yusuke and Genkai—facing Team Uraotogi.
