Abby’s mother comes to town, and Abby is heartbroken to discover that her parents are separating. Shortly after, her father shows up, and it leads to a chaotic game of musical rooms. Meanwhile, the girls contemplate moving back in with their families after their rent increases, but they hesitate to break the news to Tom. Things take a turn when the police show up, having caught Tom after the kids accumulate $170 in parking fines on the station wagon.
