Abby, filling in as a substitute teacher at the high school, decides not to give a passing grade to the star basketball player, putting Tommy in a tough spot. Meanwhile, Tom faces an uncomfortable encounter with Janet's parents. Under pressure from the basketball star, Tommy is urged to obtain the answers to Abby's test. Through this experience, Tommy discovers the importance of standing up for his beliefs and doing what is right.
