Tom and Abby are taken aback to discover Nicholas’s musical abilities, but Abby feels frustrated when Tom surprises him with a drum set. Meanwhile, Joannie finds herself smitten with the local drama critic who praised her performance. However, Tom believes the critic is insincere and attempts to sabotage their budding relationship. On a different note, David, who is currently out of work, resolves to start his own construction company, prompting the entire family to rally together and support him in this new venture.
