Sakamichi and Teshima work hard to close the gap with Imaizumi and Naruko, who are leading the pack. However, Kaburagi starts to feel unwell. Meanwhile, Hakone Academy keeps a steady but slow pace to regroup with their strategist, Kuroda. As Kaburagi struggles, he falls behind his teammates.
