When a mother and her ten-year-old daughter are brutally raped and murdered in their home, Stabler and Beck question a homeless man who reveals he is Munch's uncle, Andrew. He quickly becomes their primary suspect, but as the investigation unfolds, they shift their focus to another individual. However, when the evidence they have against Brent Allen Banks is dismissed in court, Andrew, who struggles with mental illness, takes drastic actions in his misguided attempt to make things right.
