Episode Overview
Peter, a 21-year-old recent college graduate and hopeful actor, finds himself trapped in a deep video game addiction. After being abandoned by his mother at the age of 12, he retreats into the virtual worlds of gaming, avoiding the realities of his life. Now living with his father and brother, Peter connects more with the characters on screen than with his own family, slowly losing touch with reality. Meanwhile, Renee, a young mother of two who is cherished by her husband, battles a life-threatening eating disorder—bulimia. Having endured past trauma from domestic violence and sexual abuse, she turns to binge eating as a coping mechanism. Caught in a destructive cycle, she harms herself with laxatives and diuretics after each binge. Her husband and friends fear for her life and worry about the impact her behavior may have on their children.
