Lisa Gerritsen's acting journey began in the late 1960s and flourished until the mid-1970s. Her passion for performance ignited at the age of eight during a local summer theater production. With encouragement from her mother and her grandfather, seasoned screenwriter True Boardman, Lisa navigated the challenging world of auditions before securing her first professional role in an episode of the comedy series *Doris* in 1968.

Throughout her career, she made guest appearances on several iconic television shows, including *Bonanza*, *The Courtship of Eddie's Father*, and *The Virginian*. A standout moment in her early career came with a role in the long-running western series *Gunsmoke*, which ultimately led to her being cast in the 1969 NBC sitcom *My World and Welcome to It*, featuring William Windom.

Lisa's most notable achievement came in 1970 when she was cast as Bess Lindstrom on *The Mary Tyler Moore Show*, appearing in ten episodes until 1975. She reprised this beloved character in the subsequent spin-off series *Phyllis*, which aired from 1975 to 1977.

In addition to her television work, Lisa made her film debut in *Airport* (1970), portraying Libby Bakersfeld, the daughter of Burt Lancaster's character.
