Ulla Jacobsson
Ulla Jacobsson (May 23, 1929 – August 20, 1982) was a distinguished Swedish actress, celebrated for her impactful performances in film and theater. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Jacobsson initially made her mark on the stage before transitioning to cinema, where she gained international recognition in the early 1960s.
One of her most memorable roles came in the acclaimed film *Zulu*, where she portrayed one of the rare female characters in a predominantly male cast. Her breakthrough performance occurred in *One Summer of Happiness*, which featured daring nude scenes that spotlighted her as a rising star. Jacobsson collaborated with renowned director Ingmar Bergman in the classic *Smiles of a Summer Night*, and showcased her talent in *The Heroes of Telemark* and *La Servante*. In a bid to establish herself as a sex symbol, she took on a role in the American film *Love Is a Ball*. Her remarkable talent earned her the prestigious German Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in *Alle Jahre wieder* in 1967.
In her personal life, Jacobsson was married to Austrian ethnologist Hans Winfried Rohsmann. Despite her early success, her film career waned in the 1970s. She ultimately passed away from bone cancer in Vienna at the age of 53, leaving behind a legacy marked by her compelling portrayals and contributions to cinema. Jacobsson is interred at the Wiener Zentralfriedhof in Vienna.
