Franciszek Pieczka
Franciszek Maksymilian Pieczka (January 18, 1928 – September 23, 2022) was a distinguished Polish actor renowned for his extensive contributions to film and theater. A graduate of the National Higher School of Theatre in Warsaw, he completed his studies in 1954 and soon embarked on his acting career in Jelenia Góra. Over the decades, Pieczka became a prominent figure in Polish cinema, featuring in more than a hundred films, both domestically and internationally.
His remarkable performance in the 1976 film "The Scar" earned him the prestigious Best Actor award at the Polish Film Festival, solidifying his reputation as a talented and versatile performer. Pieczka's artistic legacy includes numerous accolades for both his individual performances and his overall impact on the theatrical and cinematic arts. His contributions were recognized when he was named an honorary citizen of the Godów commune.
In 2015, he received the Polish Academy Life Achievement Award, a testament to his enduring influence and excellence in the acting profession.
