Keiko Kishi
Keiko Kishi, born on August 11, 1932, in Yokohama, Japan, is a renowned actress, author, and UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. She embarked on her acting journey in 1951, gaining widespread recognition for her leading role in the acclaimed film "Kimi no na wa" (What Is Your Name?). In 1957, Kishi married French director Yves Ciampi, leading her to split her time between Paris and Japan as she pursued her career in acting. The couple welcomed their only daughter, Delphine Ciampi, a talented musician and composer, in 1963. Kishi and Ciampi eventually divorced in 1975.
Beyond her film career, Kishi has made significant contributions to humanitarian efforts. Since 1996, she has served as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), advocating for reproductive health and rights. Her talent has been recognized in the film industry, and she received the Best Actress award at the 25th Japan Academy Prize for her performance in "Kah-chan."
With a career spanning over several decades, Keiko Kishi continues to be a prominent figure in both the arts and humanitarian work, leaving an indelible mark on the cultural landscape of Japan and beyond.
