David Schifter

David Schifter is an accomplished American actor recognized for his engaging performances, particularly in the semi-recurring role of Detective J.D. Walker on Investigation Discovery's "Lt. Kenda: Homicide Hunter" and in Tyler Perry's series "The Have & Have Nots." His career began in his teenage years as the host of the New York cable television program "Spotlight on Teens." Following this, David transitioned into journalism, dedicating 14 years to investigative reporting at both local and national levels. His reporting prowess garnered him three Emmy nominations, culminating in a prestigious Emmy Award win.

In 1999, David made a bold decision to leave the security of journalism behind to pursue his passion for acting. His dedication paid off in 2017 when he was honored with the "Best Actor" award at the LA IndieFest for his lead role in a film produced in Nigeria. The following year, he showcased his talent alongside stars Michael Pare' and Nicholas Turturro in the beach-set thriller "The Penthouse."
