Elaine Stewart
Elaine Stewart was an accomplished American actress and model, born Elsy Steinberg in Montclair, New Jersey. She hailed from a German Jewish family and was one of five siblings. In 1961, she tied the knot with actor Bill Carter, but after their divorce, she married television producer Merrill Heatter on December 31, 1964. The couple welcomed two children, a son named Stewart and a daughter named Gabrielle.
Stewart gained recognition early in her career by winning the title of Miss See in See Magazine in 1952, boasting measurements of 34–25–36. She appeared in various publications, including Playboy and Photoplay. Her film career took off with a supporting role in The Bad and the Beautiful (1952), where she portrayed Lila, a starlet involved with a producer played by Kirk Douglas. She also starred as Julie, the love interest of Sgt. Ryan (Richard Widmark) in Take the High Ground! (1953).
Her filmography includes notable titles like Brigadoon, Night Passage, Code Two, The Rise and Fall of Legs Diamond, and The Adventures of Hajji Baba. In 1953, she played Anne Boleyn in Young Bess and co-starred in the film noir The Tattered Dress (1957) with Jeff Chandler. Moving to television, Stewart guest-starred in series such as Bat Masterson and Burke's Law. Her final television role was in the Perry Mason episode "The Case of the Capering Camera" in 1964. She later co-hosted game shows like Gambit and High Rollers in the 1970s, both produced by her husband. Elaine Stewart passed away on June 27, 2011, at the age of 81.
