Guillaume de Tonquédec

Guillaume Emmanuel Marie de Quengo de Tonquédec, born on October 18, 1966, is a distinguished French actor known for his versatile performances across stage, television, and film. He gained widespread recognition in France for his portrayal of Renaud Lepic in the popular television series *Fais pas ci, fais pas ça* (2007–2017) on France 2. His remarkable talent was further acknowledged when he received the César Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2013 for his role as Claude Gatignol in the film *What's in a Name?*, which also featured Valérie Benguigui, who won the César for Best Supporting Actress.

Originating from Paris and raised in Louveciennes, de Tonquédec pursued studies in economics and English at Paris Nanterre University before enrolling in the prestigious Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique in 1986. He launched his acting career on stage in 1989 with a national tour of John Millington Synge's *The Playboy of the Western World*. His film debut came in Krzysztof Kieslowski's *The Double Life of Veronique* (1991), followed by notable performances in *List of Merite* (1992) and Raúl Ruiz's *Three Lives and Only One Death* (1996).

In recognition of his contributions to the arts, he was honored as a Knight in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2015. De Tonquédec has also been nominated for the Molière Award multiple times, including for Best Actor in 2017 and 2020. He lives in L'Étang-la-Ville with his wife, interior designer Christèle Marchal, and their three children: Amaury, Timothé, and Victoire.
