Gailard Sartain
Gailard Sartain (September 18, 1946 – June 17, 2025) was a notable American comedian and character performer.
He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Tulsa. In addition to his acting career, Sartain was an accomplished illustrator, with a diverse portfolio that included record cover artwork, such as for Leon Russell's "Will O' the Wisp," as well as illustrations featured in various nationally recognized magazines. Sartain was also a pioneer in local television, creating and hosting Tulsa's inaugural late-night, unconventional comedy show titled "Dr. Mazeppa Pompazoidi's Uncanny Film Festival and Camp Meeting."
Throughout his career, Sartain became known for his unique blend of humor and creativity, contributing significantly to the entertainment landscape in Tulsa and beyond. His legacy as both an artist and a performer continues to resonate with audiences, showcasing his versatility and passion for the arts.
